Quarantine Tank

Best to go for bare bottom with maybe some potted plants but remember that you will have to remove the plants when using certain medication.. you can go for a sponge filter which works with an air pump as it will aerate the water as well otherwise you can use a normal filter and add an airstone but make sure it is not too powerful as it will stress the fish and no carbon should be used while medicating as it will absorb the medicine. I prefer a sponge filter as it allows me to use it as a quarantine/breeding tank not just quarantine. Dim lights can be useful and it should be placed somewhere where people do not pass in front of it often. You will also need a heater to keep the temperature stable.

bare bottom small filter (without carbon!) good aeriation - with medication and high temps u need air! plastic plants (make sure no sharp edges) make sure u clean afterwards - using potassium permanganate
